Bulletin Board

In our second year of “covenanting” as a congregation, we already have 42 persons who have joined the covenant! As we each contemplate our commitments to God and to one another, we want to take seriously how we can together be fervent seekers, demonstrators of loving community, generous givers and bold dreamers. We look forward to engaging each other and our Scottdale community in giving witness to Jesus as our center in 2018-19.

We first met David Radcliff of New Community Project several years ago at a retreat at Laurelville. NCP is a small organization with a big goal — to change the world by changing the way we relate to the planet and its people. It offer resources that challenge us, experiences that change us and a community that gives us hope.

75th Anniversary Celebration, October 18-21, 2018 at Laurelville — Spring and fall gatherings are a time for association members and prospective members to share together in worship, fellowship, volunteer projects, and more. Laurelville’s semi-annual business meeting is held on Saturday, offering an opportunity to hear about news and events taking place at Laurelville, vote for and affirm board members and welcome new members into the association. Activities for children of all ages are also provided, making our spring and fall gatherings a terrific experience for the whole family.

Laurelville Community Celebration is happening on Saturday, October 20 from 2-5 pm, while the weekend association gathering is happening. SMC is invited to attend both free events. If you plan to attend association events, you will need to register (very important for food count).
If you are just attending the Community Celebration (Saturday 2-5), you don’t need to register. Enjoy a free afternoon of activities for the whole family. For more information: 724-423-2056.
